Moms are moms. When you are growing up, you don't always know 1 they do for you. And sometimes they do things that you remember all your life. 

My mom was like that. When I was six years old, one of my front teeth was very loose (松动的). When I touched it, I could wiggle it back and forth. I was 2 . I didn't know what was going on, so l asked Mom to look at it. 

Mom said, "In the 3 few years, all of your teeth will fall out (脱落)."

 "I'll lose all of my teeth?" I cried. "How will I 4 ?"

Mom laughed. "Don't worry," she said. "Each of us gets two 5 of teeth. Your baby teeth fall out just to make a place for your permanent teeth (恒牙) to come in."

Now in China many restaurants are known for their pets rather than food. In these pet-themed restaurants, people can play with cats, dogs, ducks, rabbits or other animals while eating or having drinks. With so many pet lovers today, it isn't surprising that such restaurants are now everywhere in Chinese cities.     ★    .

In most of the pet-themed restaurants, many cats or dogs are allowed to walk freely in their living areas and even in the dining space. Even worse, animal hairs are everywhere, and there's often bad smell in the restaurants. In one of the dog-themed restaurants, the dogs fight, jump onto the dining table or even poop in the dining area. 

In October, there was a hearing (听证会) about the food safety of the pet-themed restaurants in Guangzhou. Some people at the meeting talked about their concerns. They thought the animals in the pet-themed restaurants might carry parasites (寄生虫) and spread (传播) diseases, which wero bad for people. Besides, although the animals are kept by the restaurants as pets, they may attack (袭击) people. 

As more pets are entering Chinese families, they have become an important part of people's daily lives. The growing pet-themed restaurants have made people's lives interesting and colorful. However, without rules and regulations, the restaurants can't be good choices for people. 

A man was sitting on an elephant in the sea at Koh Chang island in Thailand on Feb 24. He was having  while the elephant was having a bath. In the past, many people rode elephants for fun,  now they know it can make elephants sad. That's why some people riding them They choose (选择) to just wash elephants and  with them. This change is making elephant-washing places in Thailand. There are now three times more places like this tian there were five years ago. 

Is Zhu Hui also watching the races and eating zongzi? Well, it's 9: 00 p. m. in New York, and it's the night before the festival. But there isn't 1 Dragon Boat Festival in the US, 2 it's like any other night for Zhu Hui and his host family. The mother is reading a story 3 her young children. The father is watching a soccer game on TV. And what's Zhu Hui doing? He is 4 on the phone to his cousin in Shenzhen. He misses his family and 5 to have his mom's delicious zongzi. Zhu Hui likes New York and his host family a lot, but there is still "no place like home".

But what made him famous was his brave act. He won the China Youth May Fourth Medal in 2022 because of it. 

In December 2021, Zhang saw a fire while he was delivering packages. He climbed up to the second floor of a building and saved a family from a balcony (阳台) on the third floor. He brought each person down safely. 

People have since called him a hero (英雄). However, Zhang simply said, "I'm just an ordinary man who did what a kind man would do."

Zhang Yu is now a deputy (代表) to the Hubei Provincial People's Congress-He-wants to speak for his coworkers to improve things for them. Zhang is working to make electric scooters (电动车) safer on the roads in Wuhan. This is important because there are a lot of electric scooters and sometimes they cause traffic problems. He wants to help protect the riders.
