Jenny comes from England. She teaches English in China now. She knows a little Chinese. She loves Chinese because she thinks it is great. She often studies Chinese with the help of a Chinese-English dictionary.
It's Sunday today. Jenny can't wait to test her Chinese. She goes out to do some shopping. When she gets to a big store, she comes out of her car and goes in.
"Can I help you?" the girl in the store asks her in Chinese. "Yes, please. I need a cup," Jenny says in Chinese, too. When she says "cup", it sounds like "quilt". "I'm sorry, but we don't sell quilts here. Are you sure you need a quilt?" says the girl. Jenny says, "Yes, I need a new cup to drink water." The girl thinks for a minute and then goes to the back of the shop. "My Chinese is not good, but it looks that the girl knows me," Jenny thinks.
After a minute the girl comes back. She gets Jenny a nice cup. "Thank you very much!" Jenny says to the girl happily. "You're welcome!" the girl says with a smile.
