Do you think you can have only one job in your lifetime? This is not true, but lots of people think so. Former President of the US, Ronald Reagan, began as an actor when he was a young man. Later, he decided to do political (政治的) work. The love for it finally led him to become President of the United States.

The famous artist in the19th century, Vincent Van Gogh, was not a painter at the beginning. He once worked as an art salesman and later he became a preacher (牧师). It was only 10 years before he died that he decided to become an artist.

J. K. Rowling, the writer of the famous novel Harry Potter, was a school teacher before she began writing books. In fact, she was out of work before the first book Harry Potter came out.

Now we know job can be changeable. The important thing is to find what you are really good at or what you really want to do. Once you find what you love, it's all a matter of how hard you try.

Respect what you are eating

We all love food. But when you can't finish your meal, how do you feel? You might think that wasting a little bit of food isn't a big deal.

But when a whole school started to save food in their cafeteria (食堂), there was a big change. At Hengyang No. 1 Middle School in Hunan Province, students are told to take no more food than they need. "There used to be 100 kg of food waste every day. But now, the amount (数量)of waste is down by 75 percent, "the cafeteria's manager told Hunan Evening Paper.

In China, people waste 35 million tons of food each year. That is enough to feed the whole country of South Korea for a year.

Food waste is a big problem around the world. According to the United Nations, there are 820 million people living in hunger (饥饿)today. But every year, the world waste 1.3 billion tons of food. That's one-third of all the food we have.

The Communist Party of China (the CPC，中国共产党)was founded(成立) in 1921. People around the city have held all kinds of activities to celebrate the100^th anniversary(纪念日).

In the City Art Museum, citizens(市民) show great interest in hundreds of paintings about the history of the CPC. The art show has 3 themes about the CPC. Some paintings describe Chinese people's poor and painful lives in the past. Some show that the CPC overcame difficulties and led Chinese to build the People's Republic of China(中华人民共和国). Others tell citizens about great changes that have taken place in China in the last 100 years. Seeing these paintings, a lot of citizens have a better understanding of the CPC and feel lucky to live in new China. Li Hua enjoys all the paintings and says，"It's amazing that China has progressed in such a rapid way."

Besides the painting show, a speech competition gets tons of attention. Tangtang lakes part in it. He says that the CPC has given him a lot of chances to achieve his China dream—to become an excellent writer. As a party member, he makes an effort to serve people without thinking about himself. He often sends books to the children in the mountain villages. He also writes a lot of beautiful poems about our country. He thinks these poems are his best gifts to the 100^th anniversary.

From these activities, we have realized there would be no China without the Communist Party.
