Several days ago, some students from the US visited our school. When we talked, I discovered 1 differences in school life between the US and China. For example, each class 2 fifty minutes in the US. It is a little 3 than that in China. We usually have forty or forty-five minutes in each class. Another difference is that they have less break time between 4. Besides, although most schools in both countries finish their 5 classes at 12 o'clock, the students in the US only have an hour-long break, so they 6 eat lunch quickly. A class teacher, in my opinion, plays an important role in a child's development. Every year when my daughter moves to a new class, I have a usual big worry— her new class teacher. This year, she is moving to Class Three and I can't wait to see how things are going on.
Last year, my daughter did not like her teacher at all. It was so bad that she did not look forward to school. It was a year full of trouble and worries.
This year, Miss Purity is gentle and humorous. It's hard not to like her. Here are the changes in my daughter.
She becomes an early bird. Last year, mornings were like a fight because I had to force Tasha to hurry up when she was preparing for school. 1 had to pull her out of bed, tell her to take breakfast and then drove her to school. But now, our mornings are like a party. She wakes up early, prepares everything at a high speed and then rushes to school to be with Miss Purity.
She's happy. She enjoys school and school work and keeps talking about what they did at school when she comes home.
She's responsible. She used to be careless and forgetful. But now she never forgets even her water bottle at school. She makes her bed and helps in the kitchen.
Her diary is full of praises. The diary is the tool of communication between the teacher and the parents. Last year, her diary was always full of negative (负面的)reports. One time, she poured water in a child's lunchbox; another time she threw another kid's textbook into the toilet. Now she begins to share her snacks with those who do not have anything. She's always volunteering to clean the blackboard, the teacher's chair and desk.
She does well in school. Finishing her classwork was such a big problem last year. She had to do it at home. But now, she finishes both the classwork and homework at school.
Studying abroad has become popular in China in recent years. The US, the UK, Canada and Australia are among the most popular countries for Chinese students. However, I'm in Kenya.
When I was fifteen years old, I came to Kenya and began to study at Hillerest Secondary School, a British-patterned international school. I still remember my first day at Hillerest. Everything was different from my life in Beijing. I was quite surprised by the size of Hillerest. And the school was full of different kinds of African plants. The lovely environment attracted(吸引) not, only international students but also wildlife like monkeys.
However, it wasn't just about enjoying the beauty of nature. Although my English was better than that of most Chinese students at that time, learning in a completely different environment wasn't easy. I remember how upset 1 felt about my first lesson at Hillerest. It was chemistry. During the whole class, I couldn't understand anything on the PPT or in the textbook.
I'm lucky enough to study in a friendly environment, but the challenges I've faced in Kenya haven't been only about schoolwork. ____▲____ Anyway, I am sure that I can solve these problems one by one. And I will always treasure my lovely school memories for the rest of my life.
The school day begins at 8:45 am. Class teachers meet the class and check who is present and absent at the beginning of the day. We meet as a whole school once a week on Fridays. The head teacher speaks to the whole school. Morning lessons begin at 9:05 am. There are three one-hour lessons with a fifteen-minute break.（A）The lunch break is from 1 pm to 1:45 pm. Afternoon lessons begin at 1:50pm and the school day finishes at 4 pm.
